Ikoma is an artist whose ceramic art transcends cultural and geographical frontiers, connecting worlds through his creative vision.
Ikoma's work is a tribute to the cultural exchange between Brazil and Japan, and his ceramics are enduring witnesses to a life of passion and dedication.
Ikoma has profoundly enriched Brazil's artistic landscape and his enduring legacy continues to inspire and captivate successive generations of ceramists, ensuring his influence remains timeless.
This project honors Kenjiro Ikoma, a renowned master educator, for his five decades of devotion to ceramics in Brazil. It includes the publication of a comprehensive trilingual book (in Portuguese, Japanese, and English) that delves into Ikoma's life, artistic contributions, and enduring legacy. The project also comprises two exhibitions: a solo retrospective at Japan House in São Paulo, offering a detailed look at his creative evolution and artistic process, and a collective exhibition in Cunha-SP, featuring works by Ikoma's students and esteemed guest ceramists.
