The "Path Beyond Borders: Transforming Ancient Traditions into Contemporary Art" Project is designed to foster environmental awareness by integrating upcycling practices (material reuse) into visual arts productions, with a focus on textile, ceramic, and floral arts. This multifaceted initiative encompasses two key components:
Book Release: A Publication Honoring the Legacy of Artisans in Recycled Ceramics (Upcycling), Floral Art (Ikebana), and Natural Dye Textile Art, featuring Boro, a Traditional Japanese Technique for Extending the Life of Clothing by Mending and Reconstructing Garments Using Patchwork. The book will also highlight the Sashiko stitch, an artistic method of repairing clothing.
Collective Exhibition: A comprehensive exhibition that highlights these art forms as a dynamic intersection of traditional knowledge and contemporary creativity, demonstrating how art can effectively bridge the past and the present, fostering positive social change by integrating sustainability, innovation, and creative expression.
